Most of my wedding couples are having destination weddings, so I rarely get to meet them in person before the wedding day. When Savannah & Scott told me they were coming to Maui to do some wedding planning, I knew we had to meet up for an engagement session.
We had so much fun running around on the beach and just letting their silliness come out. It’s SO important to make sure that you feel comfortable in front of your photographer so that you can just be you. I promise you, the very best photos come when you just let go and be.
Savannah & Scott wanted a location that wasn’t your “classic sandy beach”. We decided on this dark sand beach near Wailea! We only have a few beaches like this on Maui and gosh, they’re so beautiful. Savannah’s red dress was the perfect pop of color against the dark sand and rocks.

Wow, I didn’t realize Maui has dark sand beaches like this! One’uli is now a bucket list beach. I loved how this engaged couple had a dark sandy champagne toast. It looks so romantic! This is a unique beach engagement session – even/especially for Hawaii – for sure. Beautifully captured!
