As a Haiku Mill Wedding Photographer, I can confidently say you need to look into booking this venue for your big day.

The Haiku Mill is one of Hawaii’s most sought-after wedding venues, if not the most.

After photographing at almost all of Maui’s wedding venues, I can easily say the Haiku Mill is one of my favorites. When most people think of getting married in Hawaii, I assume they’d imagine a wedding on the beach or with ocean views. The Haiku Mill offers the other side of Maui – the lush greens and endless fruit trees. As someone who’s been lucky enough to grow up on Maui, this is what I think of when I picture Hawaii.

When you enter the property, you instantly feel like you’ve stepped back in time. You see, the venue is over 150 years old. The famous Haiku Mill used to be a sugar cane mill. Over the years it was shut down and forgotten about. The Haiku Mill was lucky enough to have a new owner who saw the potential in restoring the historic landmark back to its former glory.

My favorite things about this Maui Wedding Venue:

It’s in a lush area of Maui. This means there are a ton of beautiful plants and an abundance of fruit trees. Haiku is where Maui’s natural resources thrive. On the property alone, you’ll find a huge mango tree (you’ll probably have your cocktail hour under it!), lemons, limes, avocado, starfruit, etc.

There’s coverage if it rains. This is a massive plus to having your wedding here. If it does rain, the Haiku Mill can put up a clear top so that you and your guests will be dry during your ceremony and reception. The cocktail hour area is covered by a huge mango tree that blocks out the rain. I’ve shot several weddings (including the one in this blog post!) where it’s rained, and it didn’t cause any change of plans.

Privacy. Will the abundance of tropical plants venue feels completely enclosed. You’ll feel as though you’re in a world of your own with no one other than your guests.
